Don’t speak! Don’t listen! Don’t look! This is taboo!
Are taboos useful nowadays? Is it really necessary not to talk about them?
How can one express what cannot be spoken?
Taboos is a paper art installation that seeks to reflect, on one hand, the perception and social consequences of taboos (gathered through a survey) via the four “kamishinaris”, and, on the other, the path towards liberation from taboos with The Tapestry of Light and Freedom, the central piece, which expresses the survey’s conclusion in the form of a fable.
Altogether, it aims to symbolically convey and encourage reflection on the subject, while also inviting the audience to participate and interact with the work.
